Our Executive Team

Mike Buker, President and CEO

Mike Buker, President & Chief Executive Officer

Michael Buker is the President & CEO of PHX Energy Services Corp. and has been with the company since 1998. Mr. Buker’s responsibilities encompass managing all facets of the business from our US head office in Houston, Texas. Mr. Buker has been instrumental in building the Corporations operating divisions to become a top service provider and technology leader. Prior to becoming President Mr. Buker held a variety of senior management positions including sales & marketing management, operations management, international business development as well as extensive field experience. Mr. Buker has completed the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program and has obtained the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. Mr. Buker has over 15 years’ experience serving on various public and private boards.

Cameron Ritchie, CFO and Senior VP Finance

Cameron Ritchie, Chief Financial Officer & Senior VP Finance

Mr. Ritchie has been the Senior VP Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Phoenix since 1997. Prior to his position at Phoenix he was a Corporate Controller for Ericsson Australia Pty., a subsidiary of a multi-national telecommunications located in Melbourne, AUS. Previously Mr. Ritchie held a corporate accounting position with Trimac Transportation Services Ltd. a public bulk transportation company based in Calgary, Alberta. Mr. Ritchie worked in the public accounting sector for Deloitte & Touche in Calgary and Perth, Australia and became a Chartered Accountant in 1986.

Craig Brown, Chief Technology Officer

Craig Brown, Chief Technology Officer

Prior to joining Phoenix, Mr. Brown worked for Schlumberger Limited for over 17 years. Through his leadership and drive, he developed from a field specialist concentrated on MWD/LWD geo-steering to a member of upper management where he was responsible for various business segments. Mr. Brown has worked all over the world, including Russia where he most recently spent 3 years managing a large business unit.

Jeff Shafer, Chief Operating Officer

Jeff Shafer, Chief Operating Officer

Prior to becoming VP Sales and Marketing, Mr. Shafer served as Sales Manager for 2 years. His career at Phoenix began in 1999 as a Technical Marketing Representative. Mr. Shafer graduated in 1997 from SAIT with a diploma in Petroleum Technology.

John M. Hooks, Executive Board Chair

Mr. Hooks has over 30 years of experience in the Canadian and International oil and gas service industry, including operations, senior management and ownership positions. He currently is Executive Board Chair (since March, 2025) and Chairman of the Board of the Corporation (since 2000) of PHX Energy Services Corp. He was formerly Chief Executive Officer and prior thereto President PHX Energy Services Corp and its predecessors since its founding in 1995. Mr. Hooks has been a Director of Canadian Energy Services LP since March 2006 and of Crew Energy Inc. from April 2022 to September 2024.

Governance

PHX Energy Services Corp. ("PHX Energy" or the "Company") believes that effective corporate governance is essential to creating long-term value for our shareholders.

As such, PHX Energy has adopted certain structures and procedures to ensure that effective corporate governance practices are followed. The following describes our approach to corporate governance.

The Board of Directors (the “Board”) of PHX Energy is responsible for the overall governance of the Company. The Board oversees the Company’s business and affairs and the day-to-day conduct of business by executive management, establishes or approves all corporate policies as required and involves itself jointly with management in ensuring the long-term creation of shareholder value and the preservation and protection of the Company’s assets.
